South Luangwa National Park has been dubbed as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world and due to the concentration of game around the Luangwa River and its ox bow lagoons is among the most intense in Africa which hosts a wide variety of wildlife birds and vegetation that nature lovers will revel in. There are 60 different animal species and over 400 different bird species to be seen here and the terrain varies from bare and sparse in the winter to a lush green wonderland in the summer months.

This is a fantastic safari destination offering attractions such as Hippos, crowned cranes, grazing antelope and scurrying baboons. Further out on the plains you're bound to see the large elephant herds, reaching up to 70 in number. Buffalo are abundant and spread throughout the valley while the Crocodile Farm at the park entrance allows you to view some of nature's oldest and most deadly reptiles alive today. Accommodation here is plentiful ranging from motels, hostels, lodges and camps to make your stay here both comfortable and as relaxing or exiting as you want it to be.
