The Steve Irwin Zoo just outside Brisbane was established in 1970 by Steve`s parents, Bob and Lyn Irwin and renamed “Australia Zoo” by Steve aka The Crocodile Hunter who turned this zoo into a major tourist attraction winning the Australian Tourism Awards for 2003-2004 in the category Major Tourist Attraction.

The main attraction of this zoo is the Crocoseum featuring Steve`s first love – crocodiles. It also hosts bird and snake shows and various exhibits of Australian native animals.

Here you can hand feed some of the native animals including kangaroos and wallabies before visiting the  South East Asia exhibits including Tigers, Elephants, Small Clawed Otters and Komodo Dragons. This zoo is famed for its cleanliness and friendly, enthusiastic and helpful staff.
