Melbourne is a vibrant, sophisticated and slick city which, although having sometimes temperamental weather conditions is a great place to visit for anyone wishing to explore Australian life, culture, architecture and history. Ornate Victorian architecture sits side by side with the modern and leafy, established boulevards reflect the city's history while cutting-edge developments such as Federation Square exemplify its enigmatic contemporary style.
Neighbourhoods such as St Kildaproduce some of the best art, music, cuisine, performance, fashion, design and ideas in the world while the Melbourne Aquarium, located on the banks of the Yarra River offers a fascinating insight into Southern Ocean and Antarctic plant and animal life which will captivate both adults and children alike.
