Haifa is one of the most picturesque and beautiful of all the cities in the Middle East which has sweeping views of the sea, winding roads and one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. The city has changed over the years to incorporate hi-tech industry bringing the development of large office parks and shopping malls to the outskirts but the redevelopment of the old German colony has left an area that now boasts the finest cuisine to be found anywhere in the city.
There is a large arts and culture community here with attractions such as a technology museum and an enormous port-side grain silo amongst many other places to visit. One such place is the afore mentioned Baha'i Gardens, a stunning green area that cuts down through the entire length of Mount Carmel and which in July 2008, they were inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List, in recognition of its "outstanding universal value" as holy places and places of pilgrimage for the followers of the Bahá'í Faith. Accommodation here is excellent as are the restaurants offering both local and international cuisine, Haifa has it all theatres, museums, cinemas, elegant hotels, air-conditioned shopping malls, and pearly- beaches and promises to be a wonderful holiday for all the family.
