Herzliya is one of Israel`s most famous beach resorts. It was founded in 1924 as an agricultural centre, but has changed dramatically with the unexpected growth of Tel Aviv. As that large Israeli metropolis grew northward, the beaches of Herzliya suddenly became much more accessible and desirable.
Herzliya and its marina are famed for the luxurious atmosphere, fabulous restaurants, and fantastic shopping that is to be found here. The waterfront areas are lined with excellent hotels and some of the country`s most expensive villas which are home to a large number of foreign diplomats and business people. The main attractions here are undoubtedly the beaches which stretch over 7km and are some of best kept stretches of sand in the country offering a wide variety of activities.
