The Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana is on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta and was named after Chief Moremi of the BaTawana tribe. The reserve covers much of the eastern side of the Okavango Delta and combines permanent water with drier areas – making for some startling and unexpected contrasts in terrain and wildlife.

A prominent geographical feature of the reserve is Chief`s Island which is home to some of the most exclusive safari camps such as Mombo Camp, Little Mombo and Chief`s Camp. In this area visitors can experience excellent savannah game viewing by 4×4  such as over 500 species of bird (from water birds to forest dwellers), and a vast array of other species of wildlife, including Buffalo, Giraffe, Lion, Cheetah, Hyena, Jackal, Impala, and Red Lechwe as well as bird-watching on the lagoons.

There are also thickly wooded areas here which are home to the shy, and rare, Leopard. Safari excursions with expert guides and good accommodation can be easily arranged to allow you to experience this fascinating region and its wildlife both safely and to the full.
