Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in western Uganda, spanning the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Bushenyi and Rukungiri and occupies an estimated 1,978 square kilometres famous for its wildlife including hippopotamuses, elephants, leopards, lions and chimpanzees; it is now home to 95 species of mammal and over 500 species of birds.
The park is also famous for its volcanic features, comprising volcanic cones and deep craters, many with crater lakes such as Lake Katwe, from which salt is extracted. This park is most famous for Safari and guided tours and treks can be easily arranged to view this truly stunning area and its multitude of incredible natural wonders.
