When we arrived at Settlers Drift Lodge in the Eastern Cape, I was so overwhelmed I had to contact Sally straightaway. This lodge, this room, these views – and the thrill of seeing so much wildlife just driving in!
Located in a remote and untouched part of the Kariega wilderness, Settlers Drift offers a unique tented safari combined with 5-star luxury. Our experienced game rangers took us out in open game-drive vehicles, traversing valleys, grassy plains and African bushveld to bring us close to the Big 5 and other wildlife roaming freely in their natural habitat.
After our incredible safari experience, we explored South Africa’s stunning Winelands before heading to Cape Town. The Vineyard Hotel was a beautiful base, and we were delighted to discover the resident turtles in the grounds – such a special touch!
We also did a memorable day trip to Boulders Beach and Simon’s Town to see the famous penguin colony, plus the breathtaking Cape Peninsula.
Every part of this trip was perfectly planned. Sally truly outdid herself with this one. It was everything I’d hoped for and more – an absolute dream come true.
