Niyama Private Islands has undergone a significant transformation, unveiled in July 2025 under the new THIS IS NIYAMA concept. The changes span everything from villa design to dining experiences and wellness offerings.
The villa refresh
All 134 villas and pavilions have been completely renovated – lighter aesthetics, expanded interiors, modern furnishings, and design palettes inspired by Maldivian sunset and lagoon tones. It feels more spacious and contemporary while keeping that barefoot luxury feel.
Dining has evolved
Nest now offers deeper treetop immersion with Southeast Asian and teppanyaki cuisine. Subsix (the underwater venue) has introduced the world’s first underwater Nikkei tasting menu by day, then transforms into an underwater nightclub by night. Dune and the expanded Surf Shack bring fresh energy to beachside dining and lounging.
New experiences
REEF, the marine centre, offers hands-on conservation work with a resident marine biologist. The Kids’ Club has been upgraded with a splash park, climbing wall, slides and trampolines. There’s also a new “Unleash A Better You” wellness programme with advanced epigenetic consultations for those who want to go deeper.
The Niyama spirit
